Community Art Programs

Below, please find the current schedule for these upcoming special courses.

Watercolor

    Watercolor for Beginners

Drawing

    Beginning Drawing

If you want to draw, but have been frustrated in the past, I urge you to try this class! It is a real “how to” class for absolute beginners. Students will learn basic drawing techniques chosen to train their perceptions and enhance their hand-eye coordination. They will learn how to compose a drawing; identify the range of values in objects they draw; use shading to give their subjects volume; observe and draw a “negative space composition”; and use “sighting” to work out relative sizes and angles. Projects that are planned include but are not limited to 2 still life arrangements and a hand portrait.

Students should bring $25.00 to the first lesson for art materials which will be provided by the instructor.
