Summer Art Program
During summer vacation, Ms. Goldhagen offers Themed Summer Craft Sessions for children ages 6-11, July through August.
Three themed summer craft sessions will be available on weekdays during
mid-summer. The sessions are both educational and fun, and include arts &
crafts and history lessons for each theme.
This year, the featured themes are Native American, Medieval, and Ocean.
Each themed session is two weeks in duration, Monday through Thursday, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
The cost is $400 per child for each 2 week session - parents must provide children with a lunch. Juice will be provided.
There will be a one time non-refundable reservation fee of $50 to save
your place. Payment for each session is required in full at the beginning of each
session.
The last day to register for these exciting craft sessions is June 30th, 2010.

2010 Summer Craft Sessions

Session 1 - *Native American Theme
July 12 — July 22
The children will become familiar with the symbolic writing that was
shared among many tribes. They will also learn about the 5 major
regions that the Native Americans inhabited and how different people
groups had unique attributes and crafts. To demonstrate this, the children
will make a traditional craft item from each of the regions.

Session 2 - *Medieval Theme
July 26 — Aug 5
Students will learn about heraldry and its symbolism, and fashion their
own “coat of arms”. In addition to making a castle, and signal tower,
they will also learn about famous events and people from the Middle
Ages.

Session 3 - *Ocean Theme
Aug 9 — Aug 19
The wonders of the ocean will be explored during this session and
students will create craft items that showcase the treasures of the deep
such as an “underwater” diorama, and sea shell chimes. In addition they
will learn about the water cycle and how the Ocean’s health is essential to
all life on the planet.
